Specified residence-permit renewals become online-only from 1 January 2027.
Official administrative practice, announced on 14 October 2026 and effective from 1 January 2027: the Migration Department will accept renewals in the listed residence-permit categories exclusively through gov.cy. In-person submission at the Department's service points will cease for those renewals.
The list covers remunerated employment, domestic employment and employees of companies of foreign interests; for the employment categories, the announcement describes renewal with the same employer. It also covers specified family-reunification permits and long-term-resident permits. The announcement does not make every residence application online-only.
Affected applicants, employers and authorised representatives should create and verify a CY Login account before the renewal window, confirm that the permit falls within a listed category and prepare the documents and authority needed for electronic filing.
